Need ideas for inspiration

Normally after thinking for a while and looking around I can come up with an idea. I have decided to part in a Challenge. It is anything but not over 24x24 and has to incorporate a piece of candy printed fabric, and a candy bead. The title for the item is "Celebrating 20 yrs of eye candy." How do you change your mind from looking at things so literal and let it go crazy? Any suggestions or ideas?

I had an art teacher in collage that threw out strange assignments out to us. Really made us think. Have you ever worked with metallic thread? That would be fun to incorporate into the piece. Maybe Christmas themed?

I like the idea... could also make some mini blocks and the quilting in metallic threads with candy designs?

What a fun theme! I have some buttons if you want them - PM me your address and I'll ship them off to you!

This block is fun and can be drafted up to be any size you want. (Sorry it's called "The Ugly Quilt" in the picture - long story.) You could put the candy fabric in the center and colorful prints around it, with the candy buttons in the cornerstones. Keep looking at simple blocks to showcase whatever candy print you choose, that's my advice.

And don't forget to have fun!

Ok, this is really out of the box and I'm not sure why it just popped in my head. You can make it a different shape, right? How about the shape of eye glasses with candy fabric for the lenses! Is that just nuts or what? Maybe sew the candy buttons from Cindyofthevortex's post as the eyeballs.

Or you can use some combination of eye glasses fabric and candy fabric to get the "Eye Candy" theme.

Just thought of another one. The old fashioned candy shops had candy in glass jars. You can make a glass jar quilt with candy fabric. Something like this except candy instead of veggies. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/530932243552497111/

Okay, I went a totally different way. While at M* I saw a fabric with WW2 pin-up girls. You could use that and border it with a candy fabric. I don't know what it was called but it was in the licensed shop right up front by the window. Or here's one with hunks

Do some free-associating. Get some friends together, have some wine, and start bouncing words and ideas off each other. It will be a hoot and you may come up with something awesome that no one else has thought of. You could go in a lot of different directions - eye candy, celebrating, 20 years, etc. Have fun!

Thank you all for your ideas and offers. I need to get my paper and pencil out and draw something out. I like the idea of jars of candy, but the candy the quilt blocks and beads. Each jar in an attic block window and then candy buttons in each corner of the whole piece. the quilting in metallic thread to bring out the "eye candy". Thoughts? Once I decide on fabric I will post pics and then post the final project.

I thought of that, but might shock a few people....not bad.....idea. I think the older people( older than me 62) would think it funny and like it, there are some who would be offend. I think I may have to make 2. One for myself and one for the challenge.
