    Need Help Paper Piecing

I have been posting a lot lately. Thank you for all your love and not kicking me out - lol. I am trying, as I've posted a lot, to make a Star Wars quilt for my almost 8 year old son. I found a pattern for a Death Star that is frustrating me. I have done a circle quilt, done paper piecing. But I cannot figure this one out. I have shed many tears, muttered pirate words and wasted much fabric. Can anyone help me understand this? The pattern is found here: https://quirkygranolagirl.blogspot.c...l#comment-form
The paper piecing I've done I just folded back the sections I was not sewing. This pattern says to cut out all the pieces individually. How does that work to paper piece? They are curved so I can't fold them back anyway. Just making no sense.
    My 9th attempt ... Or 19th?

I don't see anything in the pattern that says it's paper pieced. It looks like she glue-basted it then sewed it to me.

If it is paper pieced, just cut pieces of fabric larger than the section it is needed for then trim as you go.

I think I maybe just figured it out. All my research I didn't realize there was an English Paper Piecing. I think that's how she did it. Going to try again tonight. Goodness, I'm sure I'm making this way harder than it actually is.

Hi, I opened the file and read the instructions. I think you are right. It sounds like you are supposed to glue base the fabric to the cardstock, then use english paper piecing to hand stitch the pieces together. It is definitely not paper pieced with all those curved seams.

          Good luck.

Yes, it is English Paper Pieced! And with customized shapes, no less. If you have never done EPP before, there are many tutorials out on Youtube.
