    Can you help this newbie figure out what quilt this pattern is for ?q

    OK, I found the fabric on sale and this pattern online, I have read it thru 2 times and it seems to me like they have 2 different quilt patterns in one ( but I'm sure I'm not reading it right ........ I want to make the smaller quilt, in measurement and the one that has the book panel in it. When I look at the fabric requirements, it asks for both panels ??????     Book panel shows 12 squares. Quilt instructions show 16 squares in it, so you use some of the squares from the second panel.

      From what I can see you need both panels to make the larger one. You will use the book panel and 4 of the 6 animal squares from the other panel.
      To make the smaller one, you just need the panel with the 6 squares on it with the larger inner design.
      Hope this helps. At least this is the way I am reading it.

        Ditto to what they said - you will cut 4 of the small character squares from the banner panel and add them to the book panel squares. That fabric is so cute BTW!!

          The quilt shown uses squares from the book panel and squares from the other panel. If you only want to use the squares from the book panel, you have options:
          Make it smaller (3x4) and add wider sashing and wider borders (or more borders).
          Make individual blocks in the same size to add to the book blocks. You can keep those blocks simple/traditional and make the quilt the size you want.
