    Camo Quilt Questions

My 12 year old grandson wants me to make him a camouflage quilt. Anyone got any ideas or ever done one? I need all the help I can get on this project. I've just completed my second quilt ever and still have so much to learn. Thanks to all who are willing to respond and give me some advice and direction.

    Re: Camo Quilt Questions

There are so many different camo fabrics/designs out there. Joanne Fabrics carry a lot of camo fabrics. Is this a camo quilt as in Army camo...or hunting camo?
Do you have any idea of what pattern you'd like to do?

If I was making a camo quilt, and I might one day...I'd use camo fabric for the backing and use theme (army, hunting) type fabrics for the quilt top. A Disappearing 9 Patch (D9P) would be great for the top.

Maybe someone else will have other ideas for you. Good Luck!!

I bought about 10 yards of various camouflage fabric to make a quilt about six months ago. I took it to my sewing room and haven't seen it since.

It's camouflage Sandy, what'd you expect?

Hmm, I could make a camo quilt out of old BDU uniforms if the fabric on them wasn't so crappy.

Don't they make camo flannel? That would be a great for a rag quilt project.

Thanks to all of you! What great ideas. I don't think he would care if it were military or hunting... I didn't think about the difference and he probably hasn't either! I need to investigate what a disappearing nine patch is now. I have so much to learn!
