    Melanee,
They are permanent. If I am trying them on a new type of fabric I always give them a test wash. I have found them to be permanent even without heat setting. They will fade a little over many washings, but only a little. My daughter's blankie has hit the washer and dryer quite a few times, and Great Grammie's signature and note are still very clear.
I have also had good luck with the Millennium pens by Zig. So far, all of the colors I have used made it through the wash just fine.
    Good luck on your project!

I also have a Micron pen and as far as I know it is permanent. I guess the only way to test it is on a scrap of fabric. Wash it and see how it holds up.

    permanent fabric markers? how permanent?

My siblings are useless, so I thought that I'd make a simple table runner that they can each write on with the permanent fabric markers. How washable are they really? I've never used them and would like it so they can wash it once and a while. Anyone with comments on these markers? I have Micron by Sakura .45 mm. I hope they are correct (I don't always trust JoAnn employees here in our town).
Thanks ahead of time. I'm sure some of you are experts in this.
