    Yardage for Zipper Quilt

I am going to make the Zipper Quilt using a jelly roll.

How much fabric will I need of the solid color for small squares, sashing, and border? How much fabric will I need to make the outer boarder.

Thank you for your help with this.

Sadly I am terrible at this. But I made the quilt with a jelly roll and white jelly rolls strips I had left over. I even had leftover from them to make a scrappy binding. For the back I had 4 yards and had a bit leftover. Its about a twin size. Wish I could be more helpful

If you use 40 strips you would need 20 for the small squares but you would need to figure your layout so you can calculate your sashing length. I made mine with 1 charm pack which gave me 80 rectangles and I did four rows of 20. I always have white so I cut yardage for the 2-1/2" strips, sashing and first border. I cut 4-1/2" strips for the second border. Quilt finished about 40x50. If you start with a jelly roll yours would be much larger. Basically a layer cake or a jelly roll = 4 charms packs
