    Big stitch quilting and flannel

I've been wanting to try some big stitch hand quilting and have a cute and simple quilt I'd like to try it on, but I'm going to back it in flannel. Any drawbacks to big stitching flannel? Or no difference? Thought I'd just echo (?) Stitch inside the colored blocks and haven't decided the sashing and corner stones. Any suggestions?

I can't help you because I have never done any hand quilting. I really do want to try it out. I think others here have done it with flannel backing. I'm sure they will come and give you any advice they can.
I just wanted to tell you I like your quilt.

There really is no difference using flannel. I have hand quilted, both traditionally and big stitch method and not had a problem.

I am currently hand quilting a flannel JRR baby quilt. Big stitching by the ditch and everything has turned out great so far!
