    What is this star???

I want to make this star and I know it is a simple pattern, but I cannot find it. It looks like it is small, maybe finished, 8 x 8..IDK. I just don't know the formula for making these. Anyone know?

To finish at 8" you would cut the center square at 4.5". The flying geese units would need to measure 4.5 by 2,5" and the corner squares need to be cut at 2.5" Once it is all sewn together it will be 8.5" and finish at 8 when sewn into the quilt.

I made these for my parents anniversary quilts and made them from half square triangles. Not really good at the geese yet and the hsts were easier at the time. I used a charm for the center, cant remember the size of the hsts

Eleanor Burns has a method of making 2 flying geese at a time - you can find a video on quiltinaday.com

If you want it to finish at 8", you would use a 4 1/2" center square, four 4 1/2" geese, and four 2" corner squares.
