Can anyone help me with this pattern?

    what quilt pattern is this.jpg

I found this on Pinterest (obvious from the pic) and I love it....and LOVE that colour combo. Can anyone help me find a tute for this as well? Or instructions or anything...like a name? I keep thinking its a D9P or summer in the park or something but I'm likely wrong. LOL

uhhh...ok...so I got the 9 right! yay me!

so I know that's probably simple for everyone but it's not for me....i don't think! LOL! So I basically sew 9 "charms" or whatever size I want....together, then sew my cornerstone to my sashing at either end then join to the blocks? Is there a particular "order" to the pattern?

Ok I will say it. I know there are what appear to be original patterns and I have purchased many. But seriously, a 9 patch and sashing is being claimed as an original pattern. So we can choose different colors and sell our own as an original.

I've noticed it more and more lately - people reinventing the wheel and passing it off as an original.

I don't believe the designer is calling it an "original" pattern. I used the words "original designer" because the picture that Wendy posted belongs to NOTyourrunofthemill, and the pattern is based off the quilt that she made. You are correct that an older pattern such as a 9 patch with cornerstones is public domain. The pattern creator has just made it easier for individuals who prefer to have all the details worked out and layed out for them. But the pattern writer/seller did have a part in designing her quilt as she decided what pattern she wanted to use and what fabrics and placement she chose to use. So theoretically, she is the "original" designer of that particular red, white and aqua quilt but not that specific quilt block.

So does this mean do you think that in the pattern she includes the fabric lines she used as well? I love this combination of colour

She might! If you use the link I posted it will take you to her Etsy shop. You can contact her thru the shop and ask her. Even if the pattern doesn't tell you the fabric line, she could tell you which one she used. I thought it looked like a Riley Blake line but I wouldn't bet the farm on it!

I also love red and aqua together, I've been wanting to make a quilt with those colors.

This is just a 9 patch. You could do this in any size squares and sash it the easy way choosing whatever width you want for the sashing.

Re: Can anyone help me with this pattern?

Wendy, This is probably the easiest way to make this quilt.

Make the 9-patch blocks first. For example, if you're making a 9-patch that measures 9"x9" your squares will be cut 3.5" x 3.5". Find a tut on strip piecing a nine-patch.

Next, cut strips to the length of the nine-patch block. For example - cut strips 9" long by the width you want your strips to be (maybe 2.5". The cornerstones would then be 2.5" square.) Sharyn gave you a link for another way to make the blocks that's also a great way to make them.

Lay out your 9-patch blocks in horizontal rows. Lay a strip in between the blocks. Now sew the 9-patches to the strips to make rows.

Next, lay out 9" x 2.5"strips with cornerstones between the rows. Sew them together to make rows of strips and cornerstones. Sew 9-patch rows together with the strip and cornerstone rows.

Hopefully that makes sense. It's a pretty quilt. I love simple layouts and this one always catches my eye. Have fun. Any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Good grief! After all that I see someone posted the pattern for purchase. That'll make it really easy for you Wendy. That color combo is very popular right now. You shouldn't have much trouble finding something similar. In fact, I'm off to find something for you. Still have some coffee left in the mug so I'll procrastinate a bit longer before getting busy with my day.

Just make sure that the middle fabric of the 9 patch is white (or same colour as your sashing)!

Honestly, I wouldn't purchase the pattern, as everybody already said: it's pretty simple! And you'll find great tutorials for every step of the way! (I always find video instructions easier to understand than written ones anyway!)
