    Re: Fabric Ordering Question

To convert 5/8 yard to a decimal divide 8 into 5. It's 0.625 yard. Depending on the measurement increments available, you might have to go up to 0.75 yard (3/4 yard).

            Re: Fabric Ordering Question

The few times that I bought exactly what the pattern called for, Murphys law was in effect. Either I cut wrong, or the fabric was just barely 40" WOF instead of 43 - 44" WOF. Or who ever cut the fabric for me cut it wrong - not on the straight of grain and by the time I evened it up, it was too short. I always add more nowadays - the extra can go in my stash.

Vonnie is right!! Better to round up on the measurements & get a yard. Trust me, running out of the right fabric is a major bummer, often you can't get more when you need it.
              Have fun !!

Agreeing that ordering extra never hurt and if nothing else add the extra to your stash after you get done with your project.

I would er on the side of caution and get a full yard.

I often make a pillow or tableruuner with any extras. That way everything coordinates!

                      Re: Fabric Ordering Question

I haven't found many online fabric stores that will cut anything but .5 or 1 yd lengths.
M* is one that will cut you 1/4 yd and 3/4 yd lengths tho.
                      Yaa for M*!
