    Six colour granny square tutorial?

I've for some time been wanting to make a quilt with granny squares such as these (only using other fabric): 2011.2.5+January+Projects+009.JPG

I've found plenty of tutorials for a regular granny square (with larger and fewer pieces) but I've found none for the one above. I'm sure I could work it out but a tutorial makes it that much easier. (I swear I use up all my brainpower at work these days!)

Any input is welcome! I will go away for a couple of days (work conference friday+saturday) and might not get the chance to check in here right away but I will once I get back! Thanks in advance.

None of these have as many little squares as your picture shows.

Kathy Thomas made a stunning QAYG quilt with granny squares. I'm not sure how many different rows of squares she used because it was a red, white and blue quilt, or maybe red and blue. It sure was pretty!

Here's a picture of the magazine that has the pattern in it: A Quilting Life - a quilt blog: Granny Squares

GoofyIzzy made one. Her comment ...

"Default Re: Granny Squares update - pic heavy
Thank you all so much. The squares are 1 1/2 inches (1 inch finished). The pattern is from American Patchwork and Quilting Oct 2010 in case anyone is interested in making one. I would love to see someone else's interpretation."

Maybe you can find a digital copy of the magazine someplace.

Re: Six colour granny square tutorial?

I just sort of copied GoofyIzzy's quilt......I used a jelly roll, so they were all 2.5"....a little bigger than hers...
then I just layed them out in a pleasing pattern, one block at a time.
