    falling blocks..

silly question, but I love the Falling or Tumbling Blocks on the video tutorial. She uses the 5" charms with the 2 1/2" strips. I happen to have 3 packs of the perfect SIX inch charms that will work beautiful in my room. Now my math escapes me. Does the 6 " blocks equate with the 3" strips????

Would so appreciate it. I know it's a small question but I really like this particular color pack. Plus this is the first time I have every come across 6" charms..

    Thanks so much.

In my opinion, if you already have 2 1/2" strips, go ahead and use them - the strips will just be a little narrower in proportion to the block. I don't think it will make a big difference.

If you want it the same proportions as the original a 3" strip would be right.

My first (and only) falling charms quilt was made with 4.5 inch blocks because they were fussy cut and 4.5 was the only square ruler I had on hand. I used 2.5 strips with them. Visually, it really didn't seem to make a difference. The overall quilt was a little smaller. So, yours might be a tad bigger. But, I think the difference likely to be undetectable to the casual observer.

I made several with 6" squares and 2-1/2" strips, it worked out fine.
