Help! May I shop your stash?

Hi guys, long time no see! I hate to chat and run, but I'm in a pickle, and I knew I could count on the best ladies and gents around to help me out My Mom's friend just found out she has cancer, so I volunteered to make her a quick quilt (keyword: quick) for her recovery and any future treatments (she literally just got confirmation yesterday, so this is very new news and I know very little details). Anyway, between us both we picked out the Cleo fabric by Windham Fabrics and I decided to make a jelly roll race quilt. That's half the battle right? Wrong! Turns out I can't get the Cleo Jelly Roll ANYWHERE! I can get a layer cake from M*, but the Jelly Roll is sold out

So, does anyone have this jelly roll in their stash? I will pay for it, and pay shipping to have it thrown to my little rock over here, but first I need to find the blasted thing lol I can get yardage elsewhere, but I can't find a jelly roll despite multiple searches.

In case you're not familiar with it:

I wish I could help you out. I just finished my daughter's quilt using that jelly roll. The Patchwork Company has about 10 of the fabrics from that collection. Cleo You might be able to create your own jelly roll from yardage. I have purchased from them before. The prices aren't the best but they have shipped promptly and have been very good to work with.

I tried to look, but yea it's not around. How about get the cake and do a fence rail? That would be really pretty and fast.

        Or a coin quilt

Oh I like Lorie's idea. Coin quilts are easy and fast. Get a bit of extra yardage for sashing and backing and you're set.

I was thinking more about the coin quilt. I did a rainbow one with a white sashing but I think with these colors a dark purple or black would be so nice.

With the coin quilt, how quick is quick? I was hoping for JRR quick, because I'd like to get this done and sent in about a week, and with me being sick my week is equivalent to about a day and a half for a normal person lol So by quick, I mean QUICK, like a top you can make in a couple of hours at most and then quilt with a few straight lines, hence the JRR idea...

Re: Help! May I shop your stash?

Its very quick. You just will have to cut up the layer cake to the width you would like the columns to be and then cut the strips of fabric and sew. It's a little more cutting I suppose rather than the jrr quilt but still easy. I have a throw size coin quilt made with a charm pack and yardage in my albums. Super easy peasy!

Thanks for the link I think I may go the yardage route, it seems like my best bet.

I do love the look of a coin quilt, they're adorable, but in my condition time is of the essence (I'd also like to get this quilt made and shipped ASAP, so time matters there too lol) so it's going to have to be a JRR, and I just can't find another jelly roll that I love as much as Cleo. Phoebe is very close, but again that one isn't available either lol So since I have a Shape Cut ruler, then there's no reason why I can't cut my own strips

                        Thanks ladies, you are awesome!

Good luck to you Dee, that fabric is gorgeous and I hope we can see pics when done. I did notice in my album that it said i started in December but finished it in February and hoped it didn't deter you cause I have to be the world's slowest and distracted quilter ever! I do hope you feel better soon though!

Aww, I miss you too Kathy! I miss most of you actually! I would say all, but there are a lot of new members and to claim to "miss" someone I've never talked to would be awkward

No worries Jess, you didn't deter me at all lol I'm just looking for the quickest, easiest quilt EVER, and hands down that's a JRR. Stitch the top in an hour or so (a day or so at my speed!) and then just use some purdy stitches and quilt it together between each strip and bada-bing-bada-boom, a quilt appears! Doesn't come much easier than that

BUT! Yep. Some of you may have seen this coming. I'm going to have to pick another jelly roll! While I was looking for the yardage, one of the sites had a little ruler next to the fabrics, and four of the prints are too large to really show up on a jelly roll It's still a pretty jelly roll if you're just looking for the colours, but I wanted to be able to notice the butterflies since I was going to applique a big butterfly in the bottom right corner Boo! So, now off to find another purdy jelly roll with butterflies on it. *sigh* Alas, much ado about nothing...

                              Thanks all!
