I made an 'altered ego' quilt top that I am very proud of. I have the backing fabric picked out, got the batting, everything's ready to go, but I can't decide HOW to quilt it. I planned on hand quilting it using a big stitch and Perle thread. I just can't figure out what would be the best way to do it . . . IMG_1852.jpgIMG_1854.jpg Any suggestions??

Re: How to quilt this top
This is amazing! I don't know how you should quilt it (I would just stipple it because that's what I do) but however you finish it you'll have a WOW quilt on your hands. You should be proud of it!Cyndi

Re: How to quilt this top
Beautiful job on your quilt top and love the fabric you chose! Now, on how to hand quilt this? You have several options and it would depends on how much hand stitching you want to detail in your blocks. I like simple myself, so to each their own. I would designate a flower outline in each four patch square and on the hour glass, do an inner outline of the shape. It just depends on how busy you want to quilting design to be.
You mentioned big stitch and I also think it would look great with arcs in each block an inch apart! Just throwing ideas out there, sweetie. Let us know what you decide and can't wait to see it finished!Sherri

Re: How to quilt this top
Thank you all for your kind comments. I do like the idea of echo quilting the shapes. This is the biggest quilt top I've made so I'm a little intimidated . . . I just keep looking at it and worrying that I'll screw it up. Well, I'm on vacation in a couple of weeks, I just need to bit the bullet and GET STARTED!!
