    Alter Ego Quilt Questions

I have purchased two layer cake packs to make a queen size quilt (Alter Ego). I would like to know how many four patch blocks & how many hour glass blocks to make from these two packs: I am really unsure and could use some good advice, it will be much appreciated. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Jenny has a tutorial on it

Since you're always on my mind can you straighten out the mess up there?

According to the tutorial, the blocks should square up to 9" each. This page says you would then need 63 blocks to make a queen size quilt:

Of course, depending on your mattress, the size could vary.

In the printed pattern in the fall QQ magazine she uses 42 layer cake (10" squares) to make 21 of the 4 patch blocks and 21 hourglass. She added 2 borders to make it 65x74". 2 layer cakes would make a big quilt .
