    Rotary Blades

This might seem like a silly question, but are 45mm rotary blades interchangeable into any brand of rotary cutter or does an Olfa cutter need Olfa blades, Fons and Porter cutter need Fons and Porter blades, etc?

I think fiskars have a notch and can only use fiskars. I have a Fons and Porter 45 mm and it can use any of the blades. Don't know about olfa cutters. I just bought the fiskars 28mm and noticed the notch. Had I known that I probably would have purchased another brand.

I have used Olfa blades in my fiskars cutter and the other way around. I think for the most part they are pretty generic, although some may be specific to certain cutters. Pretty sure Martelli are not interchangeable.

Has anyone used the rotary cutter with the pinking blade??
If so, how did it work for you?

Hmm, 45mm Fiskars don't have a notch. That's what I use most of the time.

Pinking blade works great, also I use Harbor Freight carpet blades in my Olfa cutter. They are so much cheaper, yet I understand ebay has Olfa blades for a great price also.

              Re: Rotary Blades

I use a Martelli cutter, and they have their own line of blades, and last Sunday, I learned that using other brands can screw up the mechanisms inside. Good thing I have a ton of their blades!

Thanks for the input. I just got a gift card for Joann's for my birthday & some coupons, so I'm going to go for it.
