on batting/wadding? I've been using Warm and Natural (100% cotton) but have been looking at 80%cotton/20% polyester (Hobbs Heirloom) and wondering if there was much difference or an advantage one over the other. Thanks peeps.

Hobbs Heirloom for me. Once I found it I never went back to using Warm and Natural. Buy one! You'll see!Cyndi

I've used both 100% cotton & 80/20 polyester. I've also used the Dream Green. I have to say I haven't noticed much difference in the finished quilts, other than the shrinkage factor. Since I like the crinkly look I don't care if there is some shrinkage.
I've used the Hobbs wool batting too, love that for winter quilts.. Quilts easily on my LA & doesn't shrink too much in the wash.
I'd say experiment with different batting a to see how they turn out & make notes about what you like & don't like for future reference.
I think the batting you use depends on the look your going for & how heavily you plan to quilt it.
Just my opinion.May the road rise up to meet you...

You were very daring with your thread title... LOL, never know what opinion you will get, I am sure everyone has one about one thing or another.

My very favorite is Mountain Mist Cream Rose.... It's so soft.... Learned on Warm. & White.... Still love it.... But MM is my favorite. It's great for handquilting. I use a lot of nice poly for some of my charity quilts.... That way I can afford to do more...

I use 80/20 almost exclusively. That little bit of extra loft is nice. It machine quilts well and hand quilts equally well. I don't usually quilt 10" so that isn't an issue for me. The farthest I quilt is probably 5" apart and have never had an issue. I think once you try it, you will be sold as well.Blankets wrap you in warmth, quilts wrap you in love
