    Looking for Clothesline Quilt Pattern

    Hi all,

I am searching for ideas for, or a pattern for a quilt that looks like clothes/or sheets hanging on a clothesline outside.

I love memories of my mom hanging out clothes, and I miss it. Everywhere that I've lived for the last 15 years, we are NOT allowed to hang clothes on a line. ((It's un-American if you ask me).

Please let me know if you see - or know of a pattern like this, please let me know here.

This isn't a clothesline, but when you said ideas I thought you might be able to get some from it.

After looking at Lorie's response, it actually seems like it would be rather easy to just wing one. Very cute idea.

Lorie...those sites are awesome for the quilts she is looking for. How fun!!!!
Reminded me of a painting that we had done for my mom. She loved to quilt too and had made all of us kids quilts. I took pictures of her house and then a picture of each of our quilts and we had a painting made from the pics...the house was set in a country setting, there was a barn in the painting and a clothesline with all our quilts blowing in the breeze. It was beautiful! She loved it of course!

I found some on pinterest but having trouble copying the link. I did a search for "quilts with clothesline pattern on pinterest".

It may be some of the same that Lorie posted..........cute quilts!

Here is mine - just made it up as I went along and did applique
it was my Iron Quilter submission - quilt is called "My Childhood Home"
there is a patchwork quilt hanging over the banister of the front porch and a chevron quilt hanging on a clothesline in the bottom right.

Thank you to everyone who has replied. The one from E. Burns brought tears to my eyes, cause my mom wore aprons like that and they looked like that hanging on the line.

                  Keep them coming!!

Ohhh, I do like the Eleanor Burns one too! It would be really cute to use old lace hankies for the aprons!

Try Cheri's cute quilts. She has a boy and a girl version. If this site would let me upload a file from my tablet, I'd show them to you. Look at Cheri Leffler Designs and find her wash day quilts. They are on the main page. She works at my LQS and has them on display there. They are adorable.

The second one you post link to...if it doesn't show here.... of the quilts on Pinterest....if you look at those with the larger clothes on the quilt... I have seen those where after the quilt was done, they took real baby clothes, like a dress..cut the front of the dress off from the back and then sewed the front of the real dress onto the quilt where it should be hanging...kind of give it a 3D effect/look. For the dress, they had the sides sewn down, and the middle was just full and hanging. It was reallly cute and probably kind of easy enough to do. It would make a great wall hanging in a baby's room!
