    Needle position

I have a small Brother XL2600i sewing machine. My problem is that when I put the 1/4 inch foot on it, the needle will hit the left side of the opening in the foot. I have read and re-read the manual, looked at other manuals online, searched Q & A forums and have not found the answer. I know it has to be something simple that I, as a beginner, am just overlooking (hopefully)! Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!

    Re: Needle position

I have an XR65. To set my needle position I use the stitch width regulator. When I set it on 5 the needle moves to the far left. "0" sets it to the far right. So for me it needs to be set between 2 and 3. Don't know if that works on all Brother machines but it may be worth a try ~ Hope that works for you!

      Re: Needle position

Hi I have a Brother too, mine is an XR1300. For mine, I have to select each stitch I wish to use. The default setting, when you turn on the machine is 00. For a straight 'Center Needle Position' I use 01. This is what I always use for my 1/4" foot. Maybe that will help.
