    Minky fabric

Does Minky fabric shed? Also, does flannel or a material to use in rag quilts come wider than 44 inches?

Yes Minky fabric sheds. Some people throw it in the dryer before they use it to try to remove a lot of the little fuzzies that come off. You can buy flannel that is 108" wide to use as backing fabric, so yes, flannel does come wider than 44".

I have seen 60" wide flannel too.

Minky can shed big time. I threw mine in the dryer on air fluff for a while before working with it. But as soon as I started cutting it was everywhere. It does vacuum up easily on carpet.

The first....and last....time I used minky fabric was seven years ago... It was hard to work with, but I have to admit that it made an extra soft backing for my newest...and last ...of five grandsons.... Good luck.

Minky sheds big time. I made a scarf for my granddaughter some years ago and I said I would never use any fabric like that again. I had it everywhere . It sure is a soft fabric.
