    Looking for Manly Layer Cakes

I am wanting to find a layer cake suitable for a male 55 yrs old.
    I was thinking of these:
Hearty Good Wishes Layer Cake - Janet Clare - Moda Fabrics
Homestead Gatherings Layer Cake - Primitive Gatherings - Moda Fabrics
Any thoughts on these or recommendations? I am thinking of just doing the double slice pattern, just something quick and simple

Parson Gray, the husband of Amy Butler makes masculine fabric lines. I don't know if there are layer cakes available, but you could cut from yardage.

I have a layer cake of Trains , planes and automobiles. It's sold out and you can get yardage here. I was going to use it for my grandson but found something else,

Eclectic Elements would be for a man's quilt..........not sure if they have it in a layer cake.

I just got the charms and yardage of that in the mail. AND... Joann Fabrics has it! I was in there today and saw the whole line.

Flannel sounds nice too. I am trying to do it as a surprise, but I will sneak around and ask about hobbies/colors and such lol

Does it have to be a layer cake? Would yardage work? I googled "quilting fabric for men" & got several hits. One was Beautiful Quilt Fabric, and Shop Martingale had a lot of neat patterns, some of which were geometric types. Fabrics include trains, planes, & lots of cars, etc. I'm sure there is just the right thing out there somewhere for you. Plaids often work for men's quilts, or more neutral colors. Does this man enjoy either hunting or fishing? Lots of options there. Or something with nature, wildlife, trees, scenery, etc. JCY

I have one of the Primitive Gatherings that I'm making a double slice layer cake out of. It is very manly. I think that would be a good choice. All earth tones.
