    jelly rolls and dresden block

how would you use a jelly roll to make the dresden block? I have boocooze jellyrolls to use up and trying to think of ways to use them for different patterns. Just thought you might have some suggestions. And by the way I like how Jenny jazzed up the churn dash with a pinwheel in it. I love that block and would like to make different versions of a churn dash. you guys are always so helpful. Thank you

If you have the small hexi template, you can make a braid quilt using a jelly roll. That is how I did mine. It can be seen in my album labeled 'quilts'.......it's the one w/the purple border. That goes together super fast!

The Dresden ruler will fit on the 2 1/2" jellyroll strip. You could most likely cut 2-3 at a time by stacking your pieces. Be very careful cutting the Dresden pieces. It's easy to cut your fingers at the narrow end. I found that a rotating cutting mat worked really well when I cut mine out.

Teresa B, I use 2 1/2" strips all the time to make dresdens. I pieced a quilt top recently and had scraps left over so I made pillow covers. One was my fave...the drez

Oh wow, I didn't know you could use jelly rolls for Dresdens. Those are great pillowcases, by the way.

Great idea! I never thought to use strips for a Dresden either. Going to have to try that!!
If you have the Mini Wacky Web ruler you could also do the periwinkle quilt using your strips. That's another one I'm going to do,,, someday. LOL
