    Help with stitches.....

I seem to have a problem with my stitches. I have adjusted the tension and as you can see I don't have the bottom or top thread popping out on the wrong side but I do have uneven stitches. Almost seems like the bottom stitches are loose at times from a side view. Any suggestions?

First thing I would double check to make sure the bobbin is threaded correctly. Maybe if you tell us which machine you are using someone will have experience with it.

It's a cheap brother and the bobbin is correct. I double checked before taking the pictures. I actually double checked before putting it in because I had a problem before. The machine is clean and I re-threaded both top and bottom. I didn't have this issue until I started up sewing again. It's not a huge problem but one that is bothering me. I have checked the manual. It only mentions when the top thread pops through the bottom and visa versa. Nothing about wonky stitches. If it was the top stitches, I would think the thread is too loose.

It is. I just put it in when I went from quilting (14) to piecing (11 or 12, forgot). It started doing it when I was quilting the first quilt (14).

It still acts like a thread problem, try a different spool in top and bottom maybe got a bad spool

I wish that was it but it is my 3rd spool and 3rd bobbin. The $8 thread I used for the quilt did the same. It's the machine but I don't know what this is a symptom of.

I tried everything I know so that's why I posted here. Obviously I am missing something.

I had that same problem with my Brother, but it either corrected itself or I messed with the right thing. I think it was just a hair adjustment on the top tension. Good luck! Either that or blowing out every orifice in the machine.

Here are a couple of sites for trouble shooting...first one is thread weight vs needle and other is just a solution site...

I know that this is going to sound very dumb but are you using the right type of thread? I had some thread that was quilting thread I was using and getting some odd stitches - what I found out was it was HAND quilting thread and neither one of my machines liked it. Interesting part of it was the thread just said quilting thread not handquilting thread.

I hope that you can get the problem figured out soon.
