    Cut fabric wasted

Ever cut up material and then realize it isn't going to work or you don't have enough? Ugh. It's not a huge deal cause it was cheap fat quarters in gray that I had gotten from Joann's. I was cutting it for the sides of Phoebe's Flower Box squares and didn't have enough. It is not worth the 20 minute ride to buy more. So I'm going to use black instead. I think it makes it pop more. Don't know what I'm going to do with them now, so they go into the scrap pile.
    Hugs,
    Joanne

Trust me, if you make many quilts, you will find a spot for them.

Some day you will need them. Maybe you'll do some paper piecing or strip quilting. Hang onto them.

What size are they? When the new tutorial popped up I thought oh my gosh my mistake could be used for that! My strips might me a little more narrow, but so easy to fix. A whole box of blue and white.

They are 1 1/2" x 6 1/2". Half of them are cut to 6 1/2" the other half are 18".

You know what might good for those is a coin quilt. Since they are sewn in vertical rows each strip could be any width (not length). It could be a really nice scrappy look.

It's just strips sewn into colums. They sometimes call it a Chinese coin. There is a story about stacking involved. So you can see from some they don't all have to be the same width.

                    Love the coin quilt idea.
