Tutorial with daily deal

I've loved the star quilt featured with today's daily deal. (This is my first time posting so forgive me if I've placed this in the wrong spot). I'm new to quilting and this seems doable. I've looked for the pattern and can't find it. How many layer cakes do I need (what size-as in how many per pack) to make a queen and will this look as nice with printed fabric or should I stick to solid colours?

Are you talking about the wedge ruler? If so, you can search You Tube for Jenny's tutorial on using this. Or just search for it here in the tutorials. There are tons of easy patterns & she gives you very clear instructions on how much fabric you will need.

I'm pretty new myself and they don't seem to mind if we post in the wrong spot. Also there is a youtube video of that quilt in a little box on the same page as the daily deal - are you looking for a written or pdf pattern instead? Not so sure about that- usually we only get the video but with the new magazine subscription "Block" that will change- sounds like they will be getting the patterns into a written format. Hope you have fun with your new tool!

Thanks everyone. I did check out youtube and while browsing through the comments Jenny said that the pattern was available as a PDF on the site but I can't find it .
I need to get that wedge (sold out) and make that quilt...looks so easy
