A lot of questions on recommedations

So sorry about bombarding you all with this.

Today I got to cut strips. I am going to have to cut more since I ran out of fabric and now have to switch it up. So I am trying to do the Phoebe's Flower Box. I have to cut about 2 yards of fabric into 1 1/2" strips. That's a lot of cutting, lifting, realigning, and cutting again. So in an effort to make my life easier, I was looking at this. Does anyone have this template? How as it worked for you?

Amazon.com: Shape Cut Plus 12 Inch x 18 Inch Slotted Ruler: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

Obviously a lot of you experienced people don't need this but I do. I tried the tape thing and that worked at first but pulls up. Which of these are better? They both do the same but would like to hear from anyone who has used one or the other.

Amazon.com: Pam Bono Designs the Angler 2 Tool: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

Is this presser foot worth it? Does it help you with your 1/4" seams?

Amazon.com: Brother SA185 1/4 Inch Piecing Foot with Guide: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

And lastly, is this a good price?

Amazon.com: Odif Usa 10.93-Ounce 505 Spray and Fix Temporary Fabric Adhesive: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

Many people use the Shape cut rulers for cutting strips and squares and swear by them! It is very reasonable for something that is a teriffic time saver. Many buy theirs at Joanns and use theie half off coupon.

I don't know about the others, except a 1/4" foot helps a lot of people master the 1/4" seam.

If you are using white, cream or black for your sashing, you might consider Kona honeybuns for sashing, instead of cutting your own.

This is what I use to cut a lot of strips. at first it is a little hard to get used to but once you get the hang of it you will never cut strips without it. There are probably videos on you tube too.

I do not have the ruler, however I do have a quarter inch foot and it is a fabulous invention!!

After over a year of cutting fabric, I was at a class and the instructor had been to a class for speed cutting. When cutting strips, say 1.5" like you need, figure out how many of those you can get out of the width of your ruler. My ruler is 8.5" wide, so I can get six of those widths from it. Place your ruler so the entire 8.5" (or whatever you figure yours to be) covers 8.5" of fabric, rotary cut it, move it 1.5 inches towards the edge WITHOUT MOVING THE FABRIC and continue cutting till you cut the last 1.5" strip. stack them up and repeat. It really makes life much easier!
        pat.

I just checked Joann's website. It is $26.69 (40% off rotary cutting tools and mats) so I don't think the 40% off coupon will work for it (not reg. price). Not completely sure. Does that sound about right? With Amazon, I have free 2 day shipping and no tax. Equals out about the same. You are the jelly roll queen so if you say it is a real time saver, I'll take that to the bank.

I have a regular 1/4" foot but this one has a guide. Not sure if they are any good.

I have a lot of rulers and templates (trying to get the quilting thing up and running) so what is one more. Especially if it saves me a lot of time.

I have the smaller one, mine was about $15 on sale. Your price sounds about right for the bigger one.

it's not a ruler I use a lot, but when I am cutting lots of strips it is great. I was lucky and found 3 different one in garage sales for less than $5 each. Now I love it.

I use my 1/4" seam foot all the time when quilting. I can sew without but it just makes my life easier to use it.

I have that 1/4" foot. it came with my new machine. I hate it. the way it is made makes it drag if you are sewing over a seam. I prefer a 1/4" foot without a blade on the side and is full size in toes. Then you just guide the fabric along the side of the foot.

I wish I had such luck at garage sales. I even travel once a year to the world's longest yard sale (5 states, 4 days, 690 miles, one road). Check out The 127 Sale-The World's Longest Yard Sale . I have yet to see quilting stuff. But I never looked for them either. Just started quilting this year.

That is good to know. My machine doesn't even have a 1/4" mark on the throat plate. It is just a few metric marks. I use my 1/4" foot all the time but still tend to go under.
