Funny. I stopped at a LQS near my daughter's home in search of a nice quality flannel for the backing. The owner was helping me select the backing, and when she saw the striped fabric I selected (from another store), she gushed 'that would look awesome cut on the bias'!
When I explained that I didn't have much experience with cutting on the bias, she proceeded to give me a free lesson.
Needless to say, I'll be visiting her again!

Won't that be a fun quilt! I'm in an irish chain frenzy, they are so fun and easy to put together!

Question: are you going to make each block the same colors or mix them up?

I'm thinking the same, but every other chain block reversed, if that makes sense. I'm not sure if it will work out.

So DD's order was for a (sort of) primary color baby quilt, for a friend. I have been away from my sewing room and home for nearly 10 days (BABYLAND).
I've been thinking about this for 10 days.
Three (un-squared) blocks finished, white in between, and the border and backing as pictured.
It's a crude start, but am I okay here?
