Falling Leaves Suggestions for Quilting Please

I finished a Falling Leaves quilt made of black and batik and have no idea what quilting would look nice on it.
I'm not very good at FMQ but am willing to try, and I'm also so-so at stitching in the ditch.

Any suggestions about how to quilt this? Thanks so very much for any ideas.

Diagonal lines crisscrossing each other might look nice, with a variegated thread?

Your quilt top is very beautiful and those colors are striking!

I think quilting like stairs would be neat. Start in that first pretty pink square and quilt 3/4 the way across the pink square then go straight down to the next block till half way point then go straight right. The the same way with the black areas, think stairs. Use a pretty bright variegated thread. Maybe even using the serpentine stitch (looks like a wavy line) that way it won't be so hard to keep a straight line.

Would quilting "like stairs" be done inside of the bright colors?

                I'm trying to picture this.

I was going to suggest variegated thread, too. Superior's King Tut is the best quality, in my opinion. I think something more showy than SITD would be nice. Look at some of Leah Day's tutorials for ideas. Be sure to use a Top Stitch 90-14 needle. I love the brightly colored batiks. JCY

Thanks for the ideas. I just ordered some variegated King Tut thread and will hope for the best. If I'm not too embarrassed, I'll post a picture.
