I made one about a year ago, but can't remember the nesting part. Just worked on a project today with snowballed corners and they did not nest, I aligned and pinned and hoped for the best!
I am making on of these right now and mine looks a little busy. The sashing you added is definitely the trick! Love the colors on this one, too. You mention in another comment on this blog that you bought the jelly roll at BIG LOTS! I wasn't even aware that they sold fabric. I'll be looking there now!!
Oh my goodness, Jean, I love that quilt! The colors are beautiful! What fabric collection is that...or is it just stash?

I have made this quilt top (not yet quilted). Are you wanting to nest the diamond in the center? I found if I pressed the seams in opposite directions on opposite sides of the diamond, they nested ok. Be sure to do the pressing before you sew together the 4 sections of the block. I don't have an album yet for this quilt, but I'll eventually get to it. JCY
I made this pattern last spring. I had a little problem with my diamonds matching, but I think it had more to do with the fact that I cut them in a stack and a few of them were slightly bigger, so when I went to sew them together, they didn't want to match up well, but I eventually eased them all into place.
