Will it matter if my fabric is directional (ie. Mini chevron in various colors)?

That pattern the chevrons will end up every which way, but I think if you like the fabric go for it. I don't think it would hurt the look but just make it more interesting! You could just do up a trial block to make sure you like the effect. I do that a lot and I'm saving all those extra blocks for a leftover block sampler quilt someday...Have a Sewonderful Day,
