    Help me choose a border.

So we are debating on borders for the double hourglass quilt. I made a quick-n-dirty image of a couple potential border designs or I am certainly open to other ideas besides these two. What do you think?

I also considered doing option 2 (double border) but instead of having strips the entire length of each block splitting them into thirds so it would be almost like stretched 9 patch block with only with 2 rows (6 patch block?). I was to lazy to make an image of that though.

I like 2! But I suggest you make the strips random lengths. I did a random 4 row border and I really love the way it looks.

Love the double row, and love your corners too.

I'm thinking that if you did #2 the way you described, it would look like a continuous 4 patch which could work also!

Voting for #1, the 2nd one seems a little busy for the pattern.

I like #2. I find borders really difficult to design. But I'm always amazed by the creativity and beauty of the M* quilters' borders. Your number 2 really grabs me. I like the #1, but love the #2.

I am going to do,this pattern and Ithink I would want a thin sashing around first and then the colors sashing a bit wider. Love the number two, but again I would want some separation of the center with the border. To me the colors all get mixed up together if not defined. Hope that made sense lol. And if ok, i may borrow your idea

I think a 1" solid frame and then border #1
