    Where to buy batiks?

Hi, I just bought a pattern that calls for Batiks in a rainbow. I want to buy and cut my own rainbow of fabrics, just not sure where to buy them. Where would you buy so many different batiks or bundles that would work? Thanks!

MSQC has some, but I think more are jelly rolls than FQs or check Hancock's of paducah, they have some really pretty batiks - Fat Quarter Sale at Hancocks.Paducah.com

Keepsake Quilting has a lot of batiks and Connecting Threads.

Pixie Party Cotton Rainbow Throw Kit

This is the link to the kit... So I am thinking I can buy 2 jelly rolls to make it? I want a Queen size... I wonder if I need more than that? Or would 2 colored, and two white do it?

I think 2 white and 2 colored would be plenty for a queen size.

try Bali Batiks. They have lots of "solid" colors and many prints. Prices are shown in 1/2 yds, but still several dollars cheaper per yard than my LQS. FREE shipping on every order too. Much nicer quality than I expected for the price.

I like that one, but you have one gold and one orange, is that enough?

If I needed to pick a whole rainbow of batiks, at a reasonable price (usually around $7 a yard, or $2 for a fat quarter) I would start by looking at thousandsofbolts.com. You can do a search in the box that says "fabric type" and use the pull down menu to select Batiks. They have 1861 batik choices. I f you only want fat quarter batik you can start from the short cuts menu on their home page and then select batiks as a fabric type.

here is a link for the complete fabric search, yardage and fat quarters

The Tidalpool is very pretty, but doesn't look like it has enough colors in the red/orange/yellow family and most look dark to me. I don't see as much progression in each color family. Just my opinion. When I think "rainbow", I think lighter colors and more graduation between the colors.

Did you see the video on this quilt. It's really an awesome pattern and will look good with just about anything you choose. You always make nice choices with your fabrics!

I've purchased a lot of Batiks from Keepsake Quilting. Type Batiks into their search bar and on the left hand side click all the choices. They also have a tab called Bali Batiks. Lots of choices. I actually have the Tidal pool and it's awesome! The monitor doesn't do it justice at all.

I think Cyndi of the vortex gets her beautiful batiks from Keepsake. I just got their catalog today and they have a great selection. Another nice colection is Fossil Fern by Benartex. I bought this box of fat quarters, and now can't bring myself to take them out to use them!
