    Phoebe's Flower Box tutorial

Phoebe?s Flower Box Quilt ? Quilting Made Easy | Always Great, Always Free Quilting Tutorials

This question was asked but not answered. Are the jelly roll strips cut in half? They look short in the video.

    Thanks
    Hugs,
    Joanne

I have the Fusions Texture jelly roll. I am trying to match up by color and contrast but have some left over that don't match with each other but do match with the paired sets. I didn't know if cutting it in half and using the other half to match up with the leftovers was an option. Hope that made sense.

Sure, you could cut the jelly roll strips in half to get more variety when pairing up strips for blocks. In the tutorial, the strips appear to be about 20 inches long.

I'm not a fount of knowledge but I have cut my strips into 2 1/2 x4 1/2 rectangles for my picnic quilt. It worked great. Anything that cuts down on cutting.

Thank you. I thought so too. I decided not to use the Fusion Texture. That's my good stuff. I am just doing a throw and didn't want to waste any so I am using what Joann's calls a jelly roll. It's a junior jelly. If I mess it up, I don't really care because you can tell it's not the same quality as the Fusion Texture. It's thinner. So it will be a practice throw. I don't know. I liked it when I saw it in the store but now I am not so sure.

[offtopic] That jelly roll is awesome. We have been doing a double hourglass with is opposite some strips of Kona White. I'll be sad to give this quilt away because I love the pop of the colors.
