    Quilting a Bargello

A couple weeks ago I posted about a lap-size Bargello top I picked up in a grab bag of fabric during one of my thrift store trips. I want to finish this quilt but am puzzled how to quilt it. Some of the pieces are as narrow as half-an-inch.

    Any suggestions or ideas?

    Thanks!!

I think that there are some tuts on Youtube - but I know my local library also has a book on the technique. I love the look but am to new to try it - but I do know that some of the pieces are very, very small in order to get the undulating effect. Good luck and show us what you come up with!

Sandy if you are quilting it yourself I have seen some very successful quilting done where they have simply followed the lines of the design sewing down the middle of the strip. If the lines are super narrow then maybe every second row of strips or similar. This emphasizes the design and is relatively easy to do.

If you are having it long arm quilted then just an all over soft flowing design seems to work well.

Lynn - never thought of sewing down the middle of the strips - had wondered about SITD - but I like this idea a lot. Since it is such a small piece (about 4'x4') I will do it myself.
