My next project is going to be a bargello quilt, Cosmic Twist by Eileen Wright. This is my first go around with this type quilt, so I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions or words of wisdom??
When sewing your strip sets remember to sew the seams in alternating directions so the sets don't 'bow'.
When you have your sub cut units, have them clearly labelled as to which unit they are and then hang them with a clip or peg from a coat hanger to keep them organised and easy to locate.
Accurate 1/4" seam allowance is very important is this type of quilt because of the number of seams. you only have to be out by the width of the stitch (1/32") and after 32 seams you are out by a whole inch. Don't let this deter you though, they are stunningly beautiful quilts and are actually reasonably forgiving.
Have fun and I look forward to seeing photos.
