Is there an easy way to do a triangle in a square

I have just seen the tube strip blocks and since I am basically lazy they really appeal to me. I am working on a quilt that uses a triangle in a square to make fins for a fish. Is there an easy way to layer and cut fabric similar to the tube strips to get a nice looking triangle in a square?

I don't think there's an easy way to do it with strips because it's a 60 degree triangle which can be awkward.

I had to do triangle in squares for a quilt last year and I used a special ruler from the "quilt in a day" people. It gave me perfect triangles every time. They don't sell it at Missouri star but they have some of their other rulers so maybe we should ask them to get it in. You can find it at the Quilt in a Day website: http://www.quiltinaday.com/shoponlin...ay&i=702&page=

You might want to check out Anita Grossman Solomon's method at http://www.hgtv.com/video/super-fast...deo/index.html. The video shows a super quick and easy way to make your stack your fabric and make a few cuts to have everything you need for your square in a square.
