    need a creative border

I am making a black and white Courthouse Steps quilt. I don't have enough fabric to make the size I need. I thought I would add one or more creative borders with the scraps or combine scraps with another color for borders. I am at a loss about what borders would look nice with the pattern. I've scoured the internet and saw plenty of ideas but I feel overwhelmed and keep changing my mind. I am seeking some suggestions and tips from my friendly and helpful Missouri Star forum members. I hope you can give me some direction. Thank you.

Morning. I added ruby red into the border I did for a black and white quilt. I thought it was a nice punch of color.

I can't help with the border, but I always like teal with B&W.

I've looked at many images for borders. Guess what I am wanting to know is.....which border would be best on a Courthouse Steps quilt? Sorry for the confusion.

oh okay. since there are so many straight lines how about something fluid like a ribbon border.

I think there are better examples out there. lol

that was it. ribbons! couldn't think of the name. even doing something like an old roll of camera film might look good. simple.

While my courthouse step quilt is multicolored, I did a piano key border with two stop borders. The last outer one was to give it a longer drop.
I really like the ribbon border, Lorie

I was thinking piano keys as well. It fits well with the energy flow of the quilt.

Or maybe mini courthouse steps for the border.
