    Faux Chenille Quilt

I am interested in making a faux chenille quilt. This would be my first try at this. My question: Can flannel be used for the entire quilt top? I am concerned about too much fraying. If it can be used, should I pre-wash the fabric? Any other insight is much appreciated. Thanks, Liz

Welcome to the forum, Liz. I’ve never done faux chenille but I know that several members here have done it. Surely you will get replies to your question, just check back. Between all of us we have pretty much done everything with fabric.

Welcome Liz to the forum from Canada. I would suggest that you wash your flannel fabrics, unless they are pre-cuts such as layer cakes, jelly rolls. The fraying would be atrocious. You can certain use the Chenille it on flannel.
