    Hand Quilting with Flannel

I've finished up a wall hanging made of cotton quilting fabrics. I had a TON of white flannel, so I figured I would just use that as my batting. Well, I'm hand quilting on black fabric with black thread, and every stitch has the white flannel fibers coming through. I'm willing to take apart what I have done so far and go buy regular batting. Am I going to see this issue with regular batting though (usually buy warm and natural batting)? I haven't had this problem before, so I'm thinking it's the flannel. Thanks!

Have you considered using a black batting? Or will that be a problem on the non-black areas of your wall hanging?

Well I guess you won't be using flannel as a substitute for batting in the future! Thanks for the heads up so we don't either.
