    Flannel backed quilts

I am having trouble basting this quilt so that the flannel is stretched taut. Any advice

    Did you prewash the flannel?

This video helped me when I was basting large quilts.

If I ever got it all together, I'd be too tired to do anything with it.

I always use Sharon Schamber's "board basting" method. Her videos show her hand-basting, I think, but I always use 505 spray. Never a pleat on the backing. Look it up!

"stretched taut"? That's near impossible, not necessary, and could cause problems down the line. Flannel doesn't require anything different than basting a quilt with same fabrics, front and back. Smooth out the wrinkles and baste it using whatever method. Flannel is actually easier to work with for backs (and fronts) due to the natural "cling" with other fabrics.
