    urgent binding question

So am binding and forgotten how to join using a mitre 45 degree across the plus.
Am at the point of joining the binding at a mitre 10;09 of Jenny's youtube below
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ature=emb_logo
am struggling to see which way up the strips are, can anyone help?

have cut the strips 2.1/4 inches as per width as jenny suggests, but keep joining and getting it twisted. so keep unsewing
obviously have hit the brain wall on how to do this.
    many thanks for any suggestions

I use the same method K McEuen posted it the easiest and comes out perfect.

I'm really good at adding a twist when joining the ends of the binding. Now, before sewing, I pin diagonally where the seam will be sewn and check for the twist before stitching.
