    What machine do you recommend....

Hello, just a question about machines. If you wanted to get a new sewing/quilting machine and your budget was $2000 what machine would you get? I've been looking around but alittle confused by all the different models and brands out there. I'm hoping to pick one up after Christmas or in the New Year... waiting for a 'big sale'.

Thanks for any info or direction you can offer.

I would love a Phaff and my girlfriend has a Bernina she just adores. I guess you should make a list of what you want the machine to do. Do you get a 1/4"foot with it? And a darning foot? Decretive stitches? A good straight stitch? Things like that, that you want the machine to do. They have quilting machines, embroidery and sewing machines, It all depends on what you are looking for the machine to do. Hope that helps a little.

Do your homework before you buy anything. There are a lot of great machines out there at many different price points. I am a Janome girl.....just traded in my 6260QC for a 6600P and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Comes with many feet, has more decorative stitches than I will probably ever use and the best of all.....it has plenty of space for me to quilt. Good luck.

      Happy Sewing,
      Rae

I have a babylock that I love. Before I bought it I just did lots of research and read reviews on different machines.

I've also read where you should actually sit down and try a few of them before you decide. Plus, if you spend that much, you would want a local dealer in case anything goes wrong with it. Most places that sell those type of machines also offer free classes on how to work all the bells and whistles which is highly recommended to take.

          Good luck.

What if you woke up today and the only things you had were the things you thanked God for yesterday? :icon_hug:quilting trish

Try finding a local sewing machine dealer that may have a reconditioned machine. You could save lots of money on it. Would also check out what type of warrenty is available on the machine you buy. Remember spending that much on a machine is like buying a car try before you buy( take it for a test drive!!). Would also suggest you check out consumer buying guide you can get information online from them (for a small fee).
