    quilting question

Do you quilt first if only doing a little quilting or stitch in the ditch first ??
Still have trouble getting quilt layers tight when putting together.
    Thanks, Sue

    Re: quilting question

    Hi Sue,

I am not sure what you mean about quilting before, before what? I think (still a newbie) that the purpose of quilting all 3 layers together is to lock them together to act as one. So I think you need to quilt after making the sandwich of top, batting and backing fabric.

As far as getting it tight, have you tried spray adhesive? I use a couple differeant ones but they are all temporary.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

      Re: quilting question

If I understand your question it depends on what quilt pattern you are making. Some quilts you quilt as you go, meaning quilt each block as you make it. Most quilts are sandwiched as Cheryi said after the top is made and then quilt it. Hope this helps some. Have you watched Jenny's tuts on this site? They may help you understand.
