I loved the new pure fabric line when I saw it. I bought a charm pack and started laying it all out. But as I started laying out the charms I started to wonder if this line was a little girly. Yes I know the colors are blue and brown but some of the charms may be to girly. They sell the charms here so I was wanting some feed back from my quilting gals. Do you think its to girly for a boy quilt or do you think its not. Be honest I can handle bad opinoins, lol.

Re: The new PURE fabric line
I don't think they're too girly. The blue and the chocolate are very appropriate for boys. If it's the charms with the hearts on which are looking a little girly maybe you could take those ones out and substitute something else in. Do you have any other fabrics which might go in?
Have you seen any other quilts made up using pure? I saw this one and I don't think it looks at all girly:

Re: The new PURE fabric line
I don't think it looks girly at all. Of course I can't see the little hearts on it, but from here, that quilt looks great!
Love the pattern.

Re: The new PURE fabric line
The picture was on the makelifesweet blog (the makers of the pure line) but it's designed by Rachel Griffith at ps I quilt. There's more information on her blog but no pattern because it was in a magazine: http://www.psiquilt.com/2010/06/coin-collecting.html.
It looks like she sewed the strips of a honey bun together to make the blocks and then sashed them. You could try cutting the charm pack squares into 2 or three and sewing them together.Last edited by jrchapman; September 13, 2010, 11:35 AM.
