    Attaching Sashing the Easy Way

I thought this might be helpful to new quilters or those who design their own patterns and would like to do sashings with corner blocks. This is an easy method. Of course, there are many other methods, but this one is so simple and easy!

WOW! That is so simple! I wish I had done it this way on that CA King Dresden that I am still working on! I made rows of sashings with squares.....this is a much easier approach! Might just have to make one up this way, soon, so I will remember this! Thanks!

This is one of those DUH! forehead smacking realizations.

WHY didn't I think of this before?? Such a simple solution.

            Thanks for sharing Sharyn!

A friend and I were trying to decide how to cut sashing strips once and a former teacher showed us this very way to do it. So much easier to get things to match up than the way we were planning to do it. Thanks for reminding me of it again.

LOL, Cathryn, I think I had the same DUH, head smacking reaction! I guess sometimes I've been doing the "old school" method for so long that I forget there are new and improved methods.

Wow, this makes so much more sense than the way I was doing it! I book marked this for future use - thanks for sharing!

I make my sashing strips a bit longer than needed with the cornerstone on the end. I then trim off the excess after I have sewn it on. You don't have to be as exact that way.

Good idea Joyce, then you wouldn't have to be exact and that makes it even easier!
