Hi there, I just purchased the Kansas City Star CD Vol. 1 for quilt pro 5 and its fantastic, It’s got great blocks from the 1928 to 1961. I was wondering if any of you uses a software to create your quilt or paper piecing blocks?

You can pick your pattern and add colors of your fabric to see what your finished quilt would look like. I do find many limitations there and would like to be able to design my own blocks in software or on-line . . . but I can't see myself buying a package just to be able to do it a couple of times.
Sometimes, when there's a raging fire,
it's best not to try to put it out with gasoline.
I bought EQ6 quiltmaking software and love it. It has many preprogrammed blocks that you can import to make your own quilt or you can "draw" your own quilt blocks. There is a color/fabric palette that you can pick from to color your quilt or you can scan your own fabric and use in your quilt patterns to see what your quilt will actually look like. It is fairly easy to use and has helpful video tutorials as well. You can print your quilt. You can also print the block layout, there is a page that tells you how much fabric you will need, etc. I've designed at least 6 quilts on it that I have actually made. I think it is well worth the money I spent for it.
Thanks mimis, I bought quit pro, but the allpication to create your own blocks is a nightmare, I will investigate on EQ6. I like to create my own designs, so I really need a good software that do the math for me, Im square in that department.
