    Binding Tips

I don't know if anyone has ever posted this video, but it has some very good tips on binding a quilt. In it were two tips I had never seen before. The first new tip to me was how to end the binding by creating a pocket to tuck the end into never having to take the quilt off the sewing machine. The second was to not trim away the excess backing and batting until after sewing on the binding, then trimming to 1/4 of an inch, then turning over the binding to the back. This puts batting into the binding giving it a fuller look.

Thanks for posting that link, I watched it and the start and end of the binding looks like something I need to try, very simple no tools needed no math needed . I've always usedt he second tip about leaving some batting to fill the binding and it works very well and the binding is not flat.

        Re: Binding Tips

I couldn't get the link to work when I tried to view the video again. I found this on the net, and it uses the same pocket technique. I used it with the last quilt I made, and I prefer it to the normal technique. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buCKs-Fgvb4
