    Getting those Dresden points centered!

Doing a lot of dresdens, and eyeballing the point was just not working.
Found an easy way for complete accuracy.
After you sew, but before you create the point, match up the outside edges and finger press along the folded side.
    (figure 1 below)
When you open the dresden to press the point, simply match the sew line to the finger pressed line and press! Perfect sides every time.

Maybe this method is out there on the web, but I've never seen it. Hope it helps someone.

Thank you for the tip! I struggle with those points.

did you see the dresden plates that had curves on each dresden? the points are still there but the fabric on each side is folded back and stitched in place. Looks quite nice!

Yep, have, but most use a template. Where did you see the method you are talking about?
Here's one that I found, but the points are there before the rounding happens. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-cV4XwdtXc "Thank you!"

I can't find it right now. it is like the faux cathedral block. a triangle folded and sewn in, then the folded edge being turned over a bit to form a curve. then sew that down. I will keep looking.

found this link. it's hard to see but the dresden points have fabric on each side of the center point folded down. look at the black and white one and red and green one. i know i have a larger pic somewhere.
