I really want to give this a try! Looks time consuming but I guess it gets easier with practice, just like most things! http://fabrictherapy.blogspot.com/20...l-part-one.htm

Re: glue stick applique
The 2nd link took me directly to the applique glue tut. The 1st link - if you click on "Go To Blog Homepage", the same lady's blog comes up but with a different day. (I clicked on Bonnie Hunters blog from there and . . . - well, you know how it goes when you keep seeing new blogs to click on and then you never get anything done! - haha!)
Maybe try it again Mia.
Hugs,

Re: glue stick applique
I just clicked on the 2nd link rebecca gave and it's right on that page. Don't click on tutorials, that is the page that says under construction. I hope this helps. There are 3 parts to this tutorial and the links for the other parts are on the right side bar towards the top.

Re: glue stick applique
I've been using glue sticks for quite a while now, for different sewing, machine embroidery and quilting jobs. For me, the glue stick is much better choice than the liquid glue because its tacky as soon as you apply it, no waiting for it to dry enough to be tacky. In all the times that I've used it, I've never been unhappy that I used in place of something else and there's never been any build-up on the machine needle. And like the comment made on Teresa's blog, liquid school glue and sticks are a starch based product so neither would be harmful to fabrics and washes easily out of fabrics.

Re: glue stick applique
Sorry you had trouble getting to the tutorial. I hope everyone got it figured out. I think I'm going to try it on a fairly easy project. I want to try a freebie pattern from Pat Sloan called "Sweet Liberty." I found it on her site. I just have to remember to take it slow and be patient. Patience has never been a strength of mine so it will be a challenge. When I get back to Orange County I need to stock up on some supplies to bring back to London. Elmer's purple glue sticks are on the list. LOL If it turns out I'll post a photo. I wish I had four hands and didn't need to sleep!Goodbye Europe! Hello California! Home sweet home.

Re: glue stick applique
You're welcome, ladies! It's definitely got me wanting to finish what I'm working on so I can get started on some applique. I'm trying to be good and complete the projects in the works before getting started on something else.Goodbye Europe! Hello California! Home sweet home.

Re: glue stick applique
Hi! I know what you mean about trying to complete projects! Just finished taking in the waistbands on my GS's shorts. Figured if I didn't stop the quilting, the shorts wouldn't get done till mid summer. I don't mind the small interruptions but don't like starting other big projects before finishing something else. I can always find something I'd rather be doing than finish something I've already started. Staying committed to a project can be hard sometimes!

Re: glue stick applique
Has anyone tried the applique method using liquid spray starch instead of glue? I read up on it and sounds like it might be easier than dealing with glue. I really need to make time to try applique. It's definitely on the list!Goodbye Europe! Hello California! Home sweet home.
