    Zipper quilt tutorial

Just a thought to speed up this quilt some more. Use a layer cake and jelly rolls. Add the jelly roll to two opposite sides of the layer cakes. You can probably chain. Then cut in fours. Voila 4 done. Out of one layer cake and one jelly roll you can make up to 84 blocks ( depends on the useable length of the jelly roll strip.)

Loved the quilt. Looking forward to giving it a try.

It would work, but after being cut into 4ths you would have to cut each piece in half again or your zipper teeth would be 5" wide.

That is a great idea! I was also thinking that if you had a dessert roll (seems to be a less common cut??) You could strip piece the jelly roll strip to the dessert strip, then cut into sections - it would be a less scrappy quilt....

Yup! It needs that extra cut! Now even more blocks.

Hi I have making the zipper quilt using scraps and it is turning out very nice, my question is what would be the best way to quilt it, I use a regular sewing machine Thanks

I did mine with straight lines horizontally and on the sashing put in a swirling pattern. Turned out nice
